Newmarket Group and
Summit Entertainment have greenlit "Stark Raving
Mad" for pre-strike production. A heist pic set at
a rave, film will star Seann William Scott ("Road
Trip").
Produced by John Baldecchi and Lawrence Bender,
pic will be the feature writing and directing debut
for the team of Drew Daywalt and David Schneider.
Patrick Wachsberger's Summit will handle foreign
sales on the title.
Newmarket's Chris Ball, Aaron Ryder and William
Tyrer will serve as executive producers on the
film, which begins production May 14 in
Vancouver.
Newmarket and Baldecchi/Bender previously teamed
on the DreamWorks release "The Mexican," which is
currently in theaters.
Daywalt and Schneider worked togetheron the 1999
short film "Hate* (*a comedy)." That pic was
acquired by HBO/Cinemax.
Scott, whose credits include "American Pie" and
"Dude, Where's My Car?," will be seen in the
upcoming "Evolution" and "American Pie II."
